Summary
Jaster is young when the massacre on Concord Dawn happens. It burns something in him - a mixture of bittersweetness at seeing his planet razed to ash and a coiling, venomous hurt at seeing all of the orphaned ad’e. The bittersweetness lingers - he can’t save Concord Dawn - but the coiling thing turns and twists when Jaster looks into the face of an ad and two jaig eyes stare back.
Or, the events on Concord Dawn happen a little differently, but Jaster still becomes a buir to one Jango Fett

Summary
Even before Jaster, Jango had been raised on the myths of the Ka’ra, the legends of starlit warriors and the alor of old. Jango remembered staring up at the night sky and speaking to his ancestors - he never expected for them to respond.
Or, Mandolorians have their own gods, and they have plans for Jango Fett. They may or may not include rewriting history.

Summary
When a verd’goten finishes - when the adrenaline leaves and the sweat dries and the beskar is claimed - it is a common misconception that the child, then and there, becomes a Mando’ade. The truth is that they don’t - they only become a Mando’ade when they are sent to the back of the armory, to the coolest, darkest section, and are told to select their paint colors. That first color, some argue, means more than any verd’goten victory.
Or, to Mandalorians, paint colors are more than pigments and brushstrokes. They are fate and destiny and everything in between.

Summary
The first time Cody went to war, he was specifically made for it. That meant that no one cared that he was thirteen, that he never saw a paycheck, or that he was, essentially, a product built, bought, and used by the Republic. Cody never got a choice in that war - and he certainly never had a chance. The second time Cody went to war, he made the choice for himself. It did nothing to take away the frustration he felt when he realized that he was, despite everything, still made for a battlefield.
Or, the war still comes and Cody still rises to meet it. A few things change, but far too many stay the same, and Cody refuses to let history repeat itself. He may or may not also figure out who, exactly, Kote is.

Summary
Bacara wasn’t much of a romanticist. He doesn’t paint, doesn’t write poetry, hardly even talks - and when he does it rarely sounds nice - but sometimes he looked at Cody and understood, briefly, how a poet could compare someone to a flower or a river. To Bacara, Cody had always been a sun, all bright and blinding and imbued with a level of ferocity that was as likely to scorch someone as it was to nurture. Bacara supposed that made him some sort of moon, trapped in the orbit of something larger and greater than he was. Maybe that should’ve distressed him, but it didn’t. Every moon needed a sun, he figured, and even suns got lonely.
Or, five times Bacara comforted Cody, and the one time Cody returned the favor.
