Summary
Shang Qinghua didn’t pull away or step back. He wanted to feel him close for a moment. He stared up at him, chest full of a pressure that almost hurt. He reached out and caught a slight grip in Mobei Jun’s shirt. He pulled.
Mobei Jun followed, stepping into his house, the same gleam in his eye growing. His pleasure was not warm and it was not light. His pleasure was dark and swirling and suffocating. Shang Qinghua found himself wanting to please him more, until it was filling his house and filling him.
Mobei Jun shut the door behind them. Shang Qinghua moved to the kitchen to make tea, and Mobei Jun prowled behind him.

Fleeing his life in the city, Shang Qinghua stumbles across a small town, deep in the woods. The moment he arrives, he knows something isn't quite right. But after meeting Mobei Jun, he finds that he doesn't mind having questions, as long as he gets Mobei Jun in return.

Summary
Shang Qinghua’s eyes shut on their own accord. His head tipped in the direction of those fingers. He felt that presence grow nearer and nearer, lowering and blocking out what light was left of the overcast sun. Icy lips touched Shang Qinghua’s, and it was precious. It was the soothing after that pinch, the gentle assurance after waking from a terrible dream. That hand caressed over his face, drawing down over his neck, and then over his chest. He pushed up into it, feeling his heart press up to the pressure of that hand.
Here, like this, Shang Qinghua felt like he was alive.

Mobei Jun reached out and his hand grasped Shang Qinghua’s wrist, fingers finding his pulse and feeling it beat. “Did it snow?”
Shang Qinghua nodded and straightened again to press into his side. “Yes. A few months of the year it would snow on and off.”
Mobei Jun hummed. “Did you like it?”
Shang Qinghua’s fingers flexed against Mobei Jun’s skin and he felt a tightness in his chest that quickened his breath. When he spoke, his voice came out like a whisper. “It never crosses my mind that anything could be better than this.” He paused and watched Mobei Jun’s eyes continue to search him. Shang Qinghua searched him just as deeply. “Have you ever smelled the change of the seasons?”

Summary
A moment later, there was a short rustling before it went quiet.
Hua Cheng's demeanor was more upsetting than the rustling leaves. The sound could have come from anything, but Hua Cheng had a very blank expression on his face. The oppressive weight that Xie Lian had so briefly felt began to creep over the forest floor. It rose up like water, wading up their knees, torsos, and up to their heads.
Xie Lian stepped toward Hua Cheng, reaching out a hand to touch his arm. For some reason, he felt like he had to stop him from going after that feeling, or maybe it was an urge to keep him nearby.
When Xie Lian’s fingers touched the skin of Hua Cheng's wrist, he turned to look down at him. His eyes most certainly were red.

Seeking new lands to run to, Xie Lian begins a small village in the woods, hoping to prepare to move his people away from the dreaded forest outside of their walls.
