The stakes seemed simple: audition for the school musical, and Jungsu buys them chicken. Easy. But neither Jooyeon nor Jiseok accounted for actually being cast.
“Love interest?” spluttered Jiseok, before Jooyeon even got a chance to react. Oddly enough, he was staring at Jungsu with as much horror as was currently filling Jooyeon.
“Meaning what?” Jooyeon questioned.
“A duet and a dance number,” said Jungsu. He put his arms around Jooyeon, squeezing him. “And a tiny on-stage kiss.”

As surely as the leaves fall from the trees, as the weather gets cooler and the days grow shorter, the CSAT looms nearer and the pressure to succeed grows greater. Really, the whole ordeal is exhausting. Jooyeon wants nothing to do with it.
So he pours his savings into an old motorcycle.
Jiseok’s gaze flicked up to him. He let out a short laugh, features lighting up with it under the yellow street lights. “So that’s what you were being so cagey about today.”
Jooyeon shrugged bashfully. All the ultra-cool one-liners he’d come up with had dissolved before ever reaching his tongue. “What do you think?” he asked simply. “I call her the Bumblebee.”

Jiseok thought his biggest problem was getting through another semester without having a complete nervous breakdown. His drug-addict father coming back into his life was certainly not on his bingo card.
But it doesn't have to be a bad thing, right? Maybe this time, it will work out. Maybe this time, it will finally be okay.
When his phone buzzed in his pocket, he assumed it was his boyfriend messaging him, because it usually was. Jiseok had enough respect for his professors that he didn’t always check his phone in the middle of lectures, but today he was so desperate for some relief from the persistent pressure that bore down on his chest and shoulders that he checked it right away.
It was not Jooyeon.
