Summary
Marco wasn’t Human. He was something different. Something you’d find in a fairy tale. Something that wasn’t supposed to be real, only in legends and myths. He has to fit in with the humans. He has to study and learn how humans work. He has to explore the world to know what it’s like and how things work in nature. He had so much to learn.
Only one person knows about what he is and that's Edward Newgate, his captain, and his father. He hopes he can keep it that way. He doesn’t need anyone to know what he really is. He’d be worth a lot if people found out what he was.
Since he wants to fit in he has to come up with a reason why he has powers. When he learned about Devil Fruits and their powers, he came up with the excuse that he ate a devil fruit, the Tori Tori no Mi: model Phoenix. Though as he learned more about these devil fruits he had to pretend that he couldn’t swim and seastone affected him when it was created not long after the fruits were made.
He is a Phoenix. A creature no one needs to know is actually real.
But when a certain freckled beauty showed up claiming to take his father's head, it was hard to keep his animalistic side of him in check.

Summary
Ever since Ann was born she’s had this mark on her womb. No one knew what it was and she could never find anything on it, nor could anyone else. She ended up just hiding it, not wanting people to ask why she’d have a tattoo so young, definitely a womb one. She didn’t want to explain something no one would ever believe.
When she met Sabo, she showed him since he was smart and read a lot. He himself didn’t know but did point out details that could help. It was fire wings with an empty heart in the middle. The only bird everyone should know of that has fire wings are Phoenixes but the wings were blue, not red.
When she had set out and got her own crew, she asked them about it and learned more about the mark that was on her skin. It was a Phoenix Mark. She didn’t even think such a creature was real. Of course, she didn’t know where she would even find one till Skull pointed out there was someone with a phoenix-model fruit.
Marco the Phoenix.
