“Sir Jax,” she looked him in the eyes as he reached out for her, his hand brushing her cheeks, tear-stained and flushed. She brought her own hand up to press against his, relishing in the way it warmed her face. “I missed you so dreadfully today.”
Jax brought his other hand to reach for hers, gently lifting her fingers from her lap and towards his lips as he pressed a kiss to her knuckles. Pomni felt her heart flip in her chest. “My Princess,” he met her gaze with a look of reverence, “I miss you dreadfully every day.”
