Summary
”I... I don’t get it, Sukuna.” He then leaned away just a bit more and used his sleeve to wipe away the few stray tears.
Sukuna smirked, showing a sliver of his teeth. ”What, how I did it? Frankly speaking, brat, I don’t think you would understand even if I explained it.”
When in doubt; act vaguely mean. Just don’t overdo it.
”Heh, I probably wouldn’t, yeah.” The teen once again turned to look at Sukuna’s face.
The weird intensity of his stare honestly freaked the curse out a bit, though of course only on the inside.
”But no, what I don’t get is,” Yuji paused for a moment, almost as if thinking of not saying what he planned on saying.
Then, his face grew determined, and he began again.
"What I don’t get is why you pretend to be evil.”
Sukuna’s smirk faded completely as he froze, for but a fraction of a second, thinking
What?

Yuji goes looking for answers.

Summary
Megumi’s teacher then walked up to Itadori, and leaned in close to his face.
He acted like he was simply looking at the teenager. Megumi guessed he was actually examining his cursed energy signature, though.
The black-haired teen then heard the other one say something like ‘can he even see with that thing on?’ under his breath as he looked at Gojo-sensei’s bindfold.
After a few moments of whatever the adult sorcerer was actually doing, he finally spoke up.
”Huh, you’re both not kidding. That dark, murderous aura can’t possibly be the kid’s.”
He leaned away.
”They’ve definitely combined.”
Megumi’s heart sank.

The King of Curses awakens for the very first time in the modern age.
Megumi bears witness to what happens next.

Summary
“I think I’ve got a plan!” he began.
Fushiguro’s eyes narrowed.
“A plan? What could you possibly-“ he tried to ask, skeptical, but Yuji didn’t let him finish.
“I’m gonna switch with Sukuna!” he exclaimed, almost too quick.
His classmate’s eyes widened.
He heard the King of Curses let out a questioning hum, but he ended up not saying anything.
“If he doesn’t wanna die with me, he’ll have to help!”
Fushiguro looked like he wanted to protest, but Yuji beat him to it.
He turned to him, this time fully.
Yuji looked his classmate straight in the eyes, determined.
“You go look for Kugisaki and try to help her out if she needs it!”
(‘Assuming she’s not dead’ went unsaid.)
Or;
Yuji starts to have doubts about Sukuna's supposed evil.

“That it does. Now, as it happens, I was also a witness to the exorcism which happened yesterday.”
Nobara narrowed her eyes, wondering where this was going.
“And, due to it, I have a query – why is it that you use no bladed weapon?”

The two in question turned to her, startled by the sudden interruption.
She waved her hands at them, still walking.
“We’ll discuss Itadori’s pet curse issue later, for now we shou-“
Nobara didn’t get to finish her sentence though, as all of a sudden the floor seemed to fall below her.
She caught a mere glimpse of the two just barely starting to move in order to catch her, their eyes widened in panic, – the tense exchange seemingly forgotten – before the darkness swallowed her whole.

“The contents of the Binding Vow are as follows; Itadori Yuji-“
The real, full name of his classmate falling out of Sukuna’s mouth was incredibly disturbing to hear. The curse didn’t even pause to note Megumi's reaction, though.
“-shall temporarily give up control over the body we share to me, so that I may defeat the, hm, ‘Special Grade’ curse that used to exist in the building behind me.”
Megumi’s eyes narrowed minutely. That was the plan, but now he worried what the rest of the Vow was.
Fortunately (or unfortunately) for him, Sukuna wasn’t finished explaining.
“Until he regains control once again, I may neither injure nor kill anyone besides that specific curse,” His eyes seemed to grow more amused for a moment. “-not purposefully at least.”
…Wait, what?
Or;
Sukuna tries to be cooperative and helpful without overdoing it.
Everyone else gets to see a brief glimpse of the plans the King of Curses has for them - and the world.

The sorcerer, unwitting of his ward’s annoyance at him, pursed his lips in a thoughtful way for a moment.

“Itadori made a Binding Vow with him.” interrupted Kugisaki sharply, before their teacher could go on some sort of even more insulting tangent.
(When the black-haired teen glanced at Sukuna once again, he noted that the curse… Didn’t look in the least bothered, still.
Intrigued, if anything.
The King of Curses may be the freakiest curse Megumi has ever met just by virtue of that constant, almost fucking serene attitude – whenever not all smiley, bored, or just plain annoyed.
Absolutely uncanny.)
Gojo-sensei paused for half a second, then faced Kugisaki properly. “A Binding Vow, you say? What kind, exactly?”
Or;
Sukuna attempts to soften the impact of a greatly distressing situation.
Everyone else deals with a horrible set of circumstances in which the best possible helping hand is a clawed one.
