Alex is always moving, always going, always seeking. He is defiance and brashness tinged with anxiety, but not in these moments. Henry pins him down with a gaze as heavy as his touch, and all of Alex’s motions cease. He is calm, he is obedient, he is pliable. He knows he’ll be broken apart piece by piece, sending waves of heat deep into his core.

Alex tugs at his hair and tries to focus on choosing his next words. He knows that Henry will help him - that he wants to help him. He knows that all he has to do is say the word.
Henry stands and steps closer, holding Alex’s chin firmly and tilting his head up so their eyes are forced to meet.
“You need me to clear that lovely head of yours, hm?”
“Please,” Alex says in barely a whisper.

“On your knees.”
Henry watches Alex sink down without a second thought and knows that he’ll never grow used to the sight of Alex kneeling before him. His whip-smart mouth is completely silent, his eyelashes fanning out as he blinks slowly. He’s totally malleable like this, ready to bend and fold without any resistance.
For the briefest moment, Henry struggles to maintain his hardened exterior. The knowledge that no one else will have Alex like this makes him melt inside. Still, he keeps his resolve, motivated and determined to give the man in front of him exactly what he needs.
No one else, Henry thinks, no one else.

Summary
Normally, Henry prefers that Alex use his words, commanding him to ask for what he wants or needs. He’s enamored with the way Alex says please, with how wonderfully he’ll beg. Now isn’t the time for that, not when he sees Alex is too exhausted to focus on verbalizing his desires.
“I’ll handle everything and get you out of that bright, beautiful mind of yours. Just trust me and let go.”
When Alex is struggling, Henry takes care of him the way that only he can. He benefits from it just as much as Alex.
