“You’re sweating,” Caitlyn said, the dumb things still rolling.
“Bodies are heavy,” Vi said, matter-of-factly, “but it’s halfway done.”
Vi crushed up the water bottle, put it in her pocket, and started to head back down the hallway.
“You haven’t asked me if I did it,” Caitlyn said, and the swishing of the booties stopped, the creaking of the floorboards echoing with them. The sound familiar, but Vi’s weight added meaning to it that it hadn’t held in a decade - yet still flooded Caitlyn with memories.
“I don’t care,” Vi replied, softly.

Caitlyn might have hurt someone, and Vi gets her out of it.

The girl tilts her head, smirk sliding into something even more cocky. “How convenient,” she drawls, reaching out and slipping the drink from Caitlyn’s hand. “I don’t wanna dance with you, either.”
