Voldemort no había sido capaz de matarla incontables veces, sus tíos que habían intentado de forma pasiva y activa de deshacerse de ella tampoco, el cerberus, el basilisco, las acromántulas, el dragón, los inferis, Nagini… Nada había sido capaz. La había matado una simple escalera de mármol. Al contrario de lo que hubiera especulado, no se encontró con nadie al otro lado del místico velo donde todos los mortales vivos, no sabía por qué, pensaban que les aguardaba alguien una vez muertos.
Revivir en una nueva dimensión, después de todo lo que había experimentado en sus 120 años de vida como bruja, no le sorprendió demasiado. Darse cuenta de que tenía un hermano mellizo y que se encontraba en una aldea ninja era algo muy diferente. Por suerte, estaba curada de espantos. Voldemort hadn't been able to kill her countless times, nor had her relatives who had tried to get rid of her both passively and actively. The Cerberus, the Basilisk, the Acromantulas, the dragon, the Inferi, Nagini… None of them had been capable. She had been killed by a simple marble staircase. Contrary to what she might have speculated, she didn't encounter anyone on the other side of the mystical veil where all living mortals, for some reason, thought someone awaited them once they died.
Being revived in a new dimension, after all she had experienced in her 120 years of life as a witch, didn't surprise her too much. Realizing she had a twin brother and that she was in a ninja village was something very different. Fortunately, she was unshakable. The only thing she could do was live her new life, take care of her brother, and excel as a ninja of the Hidden Leaf Village.
After all, who was she to say no to this new opportunity from fate?

Shikamaru creía tenerlo prácticamente todo controlado. Ser tan inteligente era un regalo y una maldición. Casi todo era predecible si uno tenía el conocimiento necesario y una mente prodigiosa como la suya. Ino era predecible, Chouji era predecible, sus amigos eran predecibles, incluso su madre y, en menor medida, su padre lo eran.
En el silencio de su habitación, contempló el techo con aburrimiento, preguntándose si algún día encontraría algo o alguien que le hiciera salir de su soporífero hastío tal cual su padre había visto algo especial en su madre. Quizás tendría que tirar una moneda en el estúpido pozo de los deseos y rezar como un idiota que algo cambiara en su vida.
Lo que Shikamaru irónicamente no sabía era que su deseo iba a cumplirse antes de lo esperado. Para bien o para mal...

Shikamaru thought he had practically everything under control. Being so intelligent was both a blessing and a curse. Almost everything was predictable if one had the necessary knowledge and a prodigious mind like his. Ino was predictable, Chouji was predictable, his friends were predictable, even his mother and, to a lesser extent, his father were predictable.
In the silence of his room, he stared at the ceiling with boredom, wondering if he would ever find something or someone that could pull him out of his monotonous lethargy, just as his father had seen something special in his mother. Perhaps he would have to toss a coin into the stupid wishing well and pray like a fool for something to change in his life.
What Shikamaru ironically didn’t know was that his wish was about to come true sooner than expected. For better or worse...
