Vi looks up at her from the pillow on her lap, her ice blue eyes gleaming fever-bright and pink-rimmed.“I never get sick! I don’t know how this happened,” she complains, a hint of a pout forming on her lips.
Caitlyn leans down and presses a kiss to her forehead, lingering a little to test her temperature.
“Sweetheart, not even you are immune to the common cold,” Caitlyn says patiently, skimming her fingers down Vi’s overwarm jaw. “Hopefully with lots of rest and fluids we can kick this bug fast, though.”Caitlyn and Vi are both stressed with finals week quickly approaching.
