Summary
And then the shoreline appeared, white sands giving way to green hills and silver spires. Figures stood upon the dock, some tall and radiant with the light of those who had never left the Blessed Realm, others familiar faces who had sailed before.
But it was one figure that drew Glorfindel's gaze and held it. Tall and dark-haired, clad in blue and silver, standing apart from the others with an expectancy that seemed to vibrate the very air around him.
"Ecthelion," Glorfindel breathed, the name both prayer and revelation.

Summary
Ecthelion sat back, his expression becoming more serious though his eyes still held a gleam of mischief. "I propose a contest of pranks."
Glorfindel stared at him for a long moment, then let out a short laugh. "Pranks? Are we elflings again, sneaking frogs into each other's beds?"
"Nothing so juvenile," Ecthelion assured him. "I am speaking of sophisticated, elegant mischief. The kind that causes no harm but provides a much-needed ripple in the smooth surface of our daily lives."

Summary
The bed was large and inviting, covered in linens of deep blue and silver that matched the overall aesthetic of Ecthelion's quarters. Glorfindel paused beside it, suddenly uncertain again despite his brave words.
"I find myself at a loss," he admitted with a self-deprecating smile. "For all my supposed romantic nature, I've given little practical thought to the mechanics of what comes next."
Ecthelion's laugh was soft and warm, a rare sound that Glorfindel treasured whenever he managed to elicit it. "The great Glorfindel, speechless and uncertain? I should mark this day in the annals of Gondolin."
"Mock me if you must," Glorfindel replied with a dramatic sigh, "but offer guidance as well, I beg you."
"I am hardly more experienced in these matters," Ecthelion reminded him gently. "But perhaps we need not overthink it. We might simply... explore, and see where our desires lead us."

Summary
"You fight as you do everything else, my love—with flair and passion that draws all eyes to you."
"While you move like water," Glorfindel countered, "flowing around your opponents, finding the path of least resistance. We complement each other, on the battlefield as in all things."
"We do," Ecthelion agreed, his expression softening. "Which is why we make such an effective team. Your light and my water, your passion and my precision—together, we are more than the sum of our parts."
Glorfindel nodded, feeling the truth of those words deep in his heart.
"And if we die," Glorfindel said lightly, "we'll be together in the halls. We'll meet again, right? If not here, then there."
Ecthelion smiled, though there was a tinge of sadness in his eyes that Glorfindel couldn't quite interpret. "Of course we will," he said softly. "If death can't take us, what can?"
Glorfindel pulled him closer, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. "Nothing," he declared with the certainty of one who has never known true loss. "Nothing in Arda could separate us now. Not death, not distance, not even the breaking of the world itself."
