Biffa leers. “Oh, there’s plenty of servicing to go around.” He chortles at the face Techno makes, and admires the returning blush. “Sure, there’s the hugs and the cuddles and the stopping panic attacks before someone hurts themself, or others. But that little treat - ‘masturbating your pet for health and safety’. Makes you wonder what happened with the first few rounds of human contact that that clause got put in. Better than the alternative, I think, but then again, I’ve got a pretty good gig on my end.”
Techno actually hides his face in his hands, and whimpers.
“Hey, man, no judgment here. I can shut up about it if you want me to, or I can waffle on about how weird alien sex can be.”

So many of the Hermits are still in the medical wing. They’re used to respawn, familiar with easy deaths and the powerful rush of waking with buffs and status effects. The magic is so ingrained and normal to them, they hardly consider it anymore.
The MoonFall was different. Too many days and weeks of low-grade worry and terror, that came to a head as many panicked and tried to escape the incoming cataclysmic event. It’s taken a toll on their psyche, and too many of them are slow to recover. Physically, they’re all in good health. Mentally?

The Hermitcraft has been a dream posting. A full crew, lots of friendly suits, and best of all, no Imposter infiltrations- actual or imagined. (They’re no Skeld - Joe keeps a tighter ship than that.) Xisuma’s been thinking of putting in for a permanent assignment aboard, if he can talk himself into asking for it. He’s even thinking about who he might like to remove his suit with, if the opportunity comes up.

Summary
Gem shouts, a wordless angry noise, and strikes at the unprotected chest of the closest player. He can’t watch beyond that, spinning to meet the second and catching another blow that could have met Gem’s unprotected back. His shield splinters at the edge from the next, and then Gem is there. Her leading ax-strike nearly takes off her opponent’s arm, the following sword neatly severs head from neck.
It's not ideal, but he'll do whatever he can to get them back to the Hermits. Even if that means pushing through the sacrifice he's already made, and taking advantage of the one he is supposed to protect.
Even if that means confronting his own vulnerability afterwards, and sharing it with her.Series
