“Okay,” Elphaba responds, cautious as she measures Glinda up and down. “I can see that.”
“Excuse me?” she says, the reaction so automatic she can’t stop it. She knows the years and countless sleepless nights have aged her, but, “That’s just rude.”
“You really don’t want to start a debate about what’s rude with me,” Elphaba points out before adding, “I didn’t say you look bad.”

Summary
Elphaba’s studying her face almost expectantly. They did kiss and confess their undying (romantical!) love for each other the last time they met, after all! Glinda suddenly feels shy (a sentiment she isn’t plagued with too often) under Elphaba’s gaze. Her eyes flicker to green lips; she wants to feel their softness against hers again, to taste and feel until she doesn’t know where she ends and Elphaba begins.
“Elphie?”
“Yes, my sweet?”
The words make Glinda’s breath catch in her throat. “I think you should kiss me again.”
