Quirks aren't everything in this world, nor is your family status.
Animals are treated less than humans, even though they have the capacity to feel emotions and think for themselves. They're pushed away, merely because they're not human. Nezu? Heck, he's so smart, everyone's scared of what would happen if they got on his bad side. Half the society, at the very least, still think that he's just an animal.
Midoriya? No quirk, he's ranked even lower, less than human. At least Nezu still had a quirk.
At least, that's what they thought.

They’re lounging on the divan facing Paradise Manor’s enormous koi pond, Hua Cheng’s head resting on Xie Lian’s lap, when Xie Lian absently brings up the song Hua Cheng has been humming on-and-off since this morning.
“Nice tune,” Xie Lian says, as he runs his fingers through Hua Cheng’s hair, toying with the ends of it.
The scratch of charcoal against paper briefly comes to a halt. Hua Cheng grins up at him, handsome and roguish, before setting his drawing aside. “Oh, is it? Or is gege only teasing?”

Hua Cheng clears his throat. “Not exactly. It’s a lot more complicated than that. But to simplify matters, I guess. The House will always listen to you.”
“Oh.” Xie Lian chews on the inside of his cheek. That’s—actually really sweet. Adorable. Who knew? Gingerly, Xie Lian gathers himself up into a sitting position despite protests from Hua Cheng. He scoots close to the headboard, pats the wall like it’s some pet in need of tender care.
“You love me,” he says, awed.
Xie Lian swears the spark of energy that skitters across his palm is a response. Yes! I love you! I love you, Your Highness.
Hua Cheng buries his laughter into Xie Lian’s stomach. And then he leans up to kiss the skin beneath Xie Lian’s ear. “You see? Every part of me,” he whispers, “absolutely adores you.”This is so freaking sweet and wholesome I love it.
