It sounded to her, like this man was willing to let her flock –and by extension, herself– remain within his lands while the ewes had their lambs, and while those lambs gained weight. When they are given a second chance by the Valar, with a set of requirements, they set out to complete the quest again. Maybe this time, they can avoid at least some of the danger that plagued their original journey. Or just spend more time teasing their hobbit. That would be good too.
(Time travel fix-it in which Fíli and Kíli are besotted with Bilbo, nothing goes to plan, and Bilbo will forever be confused by the minds of dwarves.)
