Summary
James Buchanan Barnes pulled Steve Rodgers from the lake. After that? Months spent hiding, running, alone. Until he found himself in a random town, in a random bar, served by a random nosy tattooed bartender. Maybe he could stop running for a while and just figure out what was next. Finding a job, a place to stay, even a roommate, the nosy bartender being an interesting choice.
But he couldn’t escape his past; neither could she. He wanted his memories back; he would have them. All of them. Even if they could destroy him. But sometimes, you have to hit rock bottom, just to stop from falling. And there even might be weirdos to help you getting back up.-
The story picks up right after CA:TWS, and completely diverges from then on. Civil War and Cie never happened. In which Bucky gets on his own, finds a new friend, is found by old friends, old foes, and gets his memories back thanks to BARF. And Tony Stark. And Joelle.

Summary
Emma's parents were murdered when she was a child. Spending most of her life sheltered by her grandmother, she's on her own now after discovering her grandmother died while Emma was vanished for five years. Seemingly by chance, she runs into a stranger who makes her feel like life is okay for a little while. But his secrets may threaten to disrupt everything in her already lonely life.
Bucky is working on completing his list of amends. When he meets the young woman whose parents he killed during his time as the Winter Soldier, he can’t help but be drawn to her despite his guilt. Just as he has difficulty with admitting the truth to Yori, he can’t seem to tell her, afraid it’ll drive her away from him for good.
Story starts a few months before TFATWS, and will eventually lead into the show. I like to try to stick to canon as much as possible but there will be some minor differences of course.

Falling in love with a ghost wasn't ever easy. Fortunately for them, Sam Wilson doesn't do easy, and Bucky Barnes isn't a ghost.
