There’s plenty of wine to spare!” He shouts in the distance, taking a sip of his wine. They pierce through me, those obsidian eyes, his thick brows, his plump lips…
“No, perhaps another time, my mother has summoned me!” I turn back and stride up the stairs and towards the doors, ignoring the jeering remarks and laughter of drunken fools who think I’m deaf to anything that isn’t facing me.Every single one is more false than the last, especially Antinous. That boastful, proud brat of a man. Of course, I get why everyone adores him so. I can’t deny the charms of his expressive brows, of his cunning smile, his sharp eyes, and the scars upon his dark skin. But that’s where the charm stops. Apart from that, he’s no better than the others. If anything, he’s by far the worst. Always trying to kiss my ass when I know damn well he talks dirt about me behind my back… They all do, these disrespectful assholes. As if we weren’t the ones tolerating them, offering them rooms, offering them dinner and giving them wine.

"Who?" Till's voice came out choked, barely audible. "Who is it, Ivan?"
Shame burned in Ivan's cheeks in contrast to the cold dread coiling in his chest. Each ragged breath felt like sandpaper against his raw vocal cords. "It's..." he started, then trailed off, the confession caught in his throat like another blooming petal.
Something flickered in Till's eyes. "Ivan, please," he pleaded, his voice cracking. "Just tell me. We can figure out something, they can love you back, you will be fine-" The desperation in Till's voice, raw and open, sent a fresh wave of pain through Ivan. He wanted nothing more than to confess but the words refused to leave his mouth.

February 14th is a troublesome day.
