Technoblade had been expecting one of several things to happen when he was woken by the sound of shattering glass. He hauled himself out of bed and stayed low as he tried to peek over the stairs to find the potential intruder. Maybe a particularly stupid burglar? Or a bird big and fast enough to shatter glass had slammed into his window. Perhaps even a fallen tree branch would be a viable explanation.
Nothing could’ve prepared him for a bleeding child stumbling into his living room.

But most disturbing was that he hardly seemed to smile ever anymore. At least not a real smile, he faked it all the time. It was too strained, held on for too long. Every time he saw it, Techno's heart twisted. He misses Tommy’s real smile.
Soon Techno found himself stalking Tommy more often than not. He found it very easy to justify it to himself, as he wasn’t going to hurt the kid, and the kid needed someone to look out for him.
It’s a good thing he was there, as Techno found several people were after Tommy’s head. Jack and Niki were always in the background, lurking, looking for the right opportunity to strike. The Eggpire wasn’t even trying to be subtle, attempting to lure him away.
Even Tommy was smart enough to try and get away, but they were getting more insistent, and less willing to leave him alone. Techno was becoming more and more sure that one day they’d decide they had enough and would just grab Tommy and drag him off. Tommy wasn’t a horrible fighter, but even Techno would struggle against a 9 foot demon, a mercenary, and a possessed cat. He’d win of course, but he would struggle. Tommy wouldn’t stand a chance.
OR-Techno decides that Tommy needs to be protected.
