The pain he is feeling is the reason why they shouldn’t ever speak of this ever again. Shizuo is ruining them; with one sentence he is destroying years and years of pretense and lies. Or maybe he isn’t the one destroying them; maybe those years are what is destroying him right now, and Shizuo is just trying to save the remains of what is still left of them. "
Trapped in a dark alley after a chase, Izaya is forced to face the feelings he has been avoiding all those years.

Summary
Aziraphale Whitegate is a cellist, the pride and joy of the wealthy and well known, God-fearing, Whitegate family. He is front and centre of their church community, representing everything the family stands for. Talent, dedication, class, subservience and above all else the image of perfection Gabriel has carefully crafted for them.
Crowley hates him the second he meets him. From the tip of his polished shoes to his perfectly buttoned shirt Aziraphale represents the worst of society as far as the guitarist is concerned. Now he’s expected to play alongside him and make nice, even though Aziraphale isn’t exactly making it easy.
But people’s lives are a lot more complicated under the surface.

Geralt’s shoulders were stiff, and his grip on Jaskier’s wrist was like a vise. Between them, the bite mark on Jaskier’s forearm still oozed blood. Just a tiny little puncture. He’d gotten worse from stepping on a sharp rock in camp just last week. The dead fox lay three paces off, its head facing away. From this angle Jaskier couldn’t see whether or not he’d imagined the foam at its mouth.
Geralt still wouldn’t look at him.
“Don’t say it,” Jaskier begged one last time.
“It was rabid,” said Geralt flatly.

At long last, Jaskier's luck runs out, and he acquires a mortal wound. It's lucky for him, then, that Geralt is far too selfish to let him die.
