“Okay,” Mike said slowly, trying to keep his voice calm, “we’ll figure it out step by step. No pressure. I’ll… I’ll help you practice control, see how far you can go without, you know, frying the house.”
Will peeked up at him, just enough to see the shy smile tugging at Mike’s lips. “I… I don’t even know if that’ll work,” he admitted, voice soft. “What if it doesn’t? What if it just keeps happening?”
Mike shook his head firmly. “It will work. And if it doesn't, we’ll find something else. We always do.”
Will’s lips quirked in the faintest hint of a smile. “You’re right. We always do.”
Mike leaned forward, careful not to crowd him, “First we need to try to find a way to turn the lights back on. Reverse what you did. Do you think you can–” He gestures towards Will’s crotch, a blush crossing his cheeks, “--Go again?”OR: Will finds himself unable to control his new powers when he gets aroused. Every time he gets "excited," strange things happen with the power. He tries to convince himself it's a coincidence, but when he finishes, and the power goes completely out, he begins to panic.

The blue dress sways slightly, a shimmering, soft fabric that lures Mike in. His heart skips a beat at the thought of that fabric slipping over his skin.

Summary
Will Byers doesn't know how to feel. This past summer has been a nightmare (more so than usual). Not only was he constantly left out by his friends, but the mindflayer had returned. Will wouldn't be able to escape that horrible night of '83. He's also moving to California in a few weeks before the summer officially ends. Although, his life takes a slight U-turn once he meets Mike's cousin, Richie. Maybe he'll be the silver lining of this horrid summer?

Richie and Will think they will never have their hearts beating fast again after their heartbreaks, until they enter the same university. Richie thinks he will never feel flowers in his body again after his romantic disappointment, until he sees William's soft hair. Will believes he will never feel his head exploding again after his rejection, until he sees Richard's freckles.
It's late fall of 1991 in New York, and the dry leaves tell Richie's heart to call his not-so-secret crush out for dinner, dancing, talking, and some avalanches.
