He had paused by the door first. Contemplated on whether he should open it or not. It hadn't been that long ago since Maddie had left, and he knew the rest of his team was on shift. The knock came again. Less insistent this time, as if the person on the other side had felt Buck's anxiousness, and it helped. Still on edge, Buck had inhaled slowly, and exhaled in the same pace before opening the door slightly ajar. Just in case.
Tommy had been the very last person he had expected to see upon opening the door.

“I want to get there,” he murmurs. Tommy hums, kissing his shoulder again as he trails his fingers down the edge of Evan’s naked hip, thumb brushing along the jut of the bone.
“There’s no rush, baby,” Tommy whispers as he tilts his head up, staring down into those crystal blue eyes. His own gaze his just ever-so-slightly glazed, body in a low hum of sex-fueled endorphins. They’ve already gone four rounds since waking up this morning, and while Evan doesn’t feel done per se, he’s struggling to settle into the headspace he’s been trying to get to all day, where he can just give in and let himself feel instead of think.
“I know,” Evan murmurs. Still, he sighs audibly, pressing his skull back into the mattress as Tommy’s lips reattach to his shoulder while his fingers continue trailing Evan’s hip.
“I want to, is the problem,” Evan says a few seconds later. Tommy shifts on the bed, moving to Evan’s opposite side while keeping his hand on the firefighter’s hip. “I want to stop thinking about everything and just give into it so that we can enjoy ourselves.”
