Summary
Arthur caught his sorcerer’s eye again. “If Emrys did have a simple, human identity, you wouldn’t have any suspicion who it could be, at all?”
“I wouldn't, I’m afraid.” Merlin shrugged one shoulder, seeming somewhat defeated. “I’ll look into it.”
Once, years ago, Arthur had been sure he could tell when Merlin was lying through his teeth. How frustrating it was to know that couldn’t be further from the truth.Or: In a fixed-it post-canon, word begins to get out about the godlike sorcerer Emrys who will aid the Once and Future King to unite all of Albion. This, of course, results in all the leaders of Albion beginning their attempts to win the elusive Emrys’ favor, in order to be chosen as his prophesied King.
Even as his Court Sorcerer, Merlin lives to antagonize Arthur and decides to inform the world -as Emrys- that he has already chosen his King, in a... less-than-conventional way.(Can be read standalone from the series.)

Summary
“You lack ambition,” Prince Leona drawls out in an idle way that makes the hairs in Ruggie’s tail stand up. “Everyone here either jumps at me to challenge the place of dorm leader, or they fake being a good pup to have a chance for an ambush. It’s annoying. I need someone to dump some work in. I’ll pay you.”
If Ruggie were a better person, perhaps he’d tell Leona of his neighbourhood’s situation and urge him to do something. To convince him so they can change a broken and divided country. If he had ambition, perhaps he’d aim to save the people just like him: to stop children from going to nicer streets and dig in the trash for scraps of food, to disband criminal groups, to create jobs.
However, Ruggie is not a better person. Surviving has always been all the ambition he can afford.
He accepts.
or: Ruggie Bucchi and survival.

Summary
Not to toot his own horn, but Ruggie thinks it's fair to say that he's something of a backbone to his community. He's reliable, caring, and does his best to provide for everyone. If they're stuck in the slums, they're family, regardless of how long they've been there or if they've even talked before.
Being the backbone comes with a lot of hard work, though, and making tougher decisions about scenarios handcrafted by the devil himself than any sixteen-year-old should have to. He'll do it, though, and he won't complain.
Someone has to be the backbone, after all, and if no one else wants to carry the weight, he will.

Summary
People cheer for him as he walks by. They hold up their drinks— both alcoholic and non— in toast when he waves. The band stops playing when they see him, pointing him out and whistling, saying our favorite royal, am I right people? To raucous applause.
He learns— through the merry lips of people celebrating— that he’s opened two homeless shelters, three food banks, two clothing charities, and a tutoring center, for school-aged children.
All done through the "hard work" of his "assistant" who's, as they say, "working on Leona's behalf". One woman, dressed in makeup way too dark for the desert they all live in, whispers, "He even gives out money, if you ask. Is it your money?"
