“You like it, right?” Shane whispered against his lips.
“Hm?” Ilya tried hard to focus on Shane’s words but Shane felt too good, the pressure of his ass on Ilya’s crotch too maddeningly distracting.
Shane leaned in so that his mouth was now right on Ilya’s ear, stilling his movements. “I said,” he breathed hotly, “you like it? Being my dog?”
And this was new. The words sent an electric shock down Ilya’s spine, making him involuntarily thrust up into Shane. Ilya swallowed, closing his eyes and nodding furiously, as Shane nibbled on his ear lobe and sucked sweetly at the skin there.
“Speak,” Shane said simply, the same tone he used when talking to Chiron or Anya. When talking to dogs.
“Fuck,” Ilya choked out. “Yes, da, yes, I like being your dog.”

The beginning is Shane’s hand in his, twice for some reason, like even then he couldn’t keep his hands to himself when it came to Ilya; when he is just so good at keeping his hands to himself when it comes to everyone else.
“He approached you?” Hayden asks, pointing at Ilya doubtfully.
“Why wouldn’t he?” Ilya scoffs, flashing that crooked smile that Shane still can’t help but love. “I am very handsome,” he quips and Hayden gets a defiant look in his eye, like he’s prepared to argue with one-time Calvin Klein model, Ilya Rozanov, about his level of attractiveness.

“You want to talk to people about me?” Shane asked quietly.
There was something small and confused in the question. But Ilya was still furious and raw.
“Well I would,” he sneered, “if there was anything about you that was fucking interesting to talk about! It would be nice to not be so fucking bored and miserable!”
The second the words left his mouth, he watched the pain roll across Shane's features like a thousand fractures shattering through glass.
Ilya had seen Shane nearly break ribs. He had seen him miss game-winning shots, take hits that left bruises blooming purple and black across his skin. He had never seen this.
Shane closed his eyes for a long moment. He shook his head slightly, a tiny movement, then nodded once as if agreeing with something only he could hear. His face twisted briefly with a fresh wave of pain before he forced it to still.

What if Shane and Ilya don't make up so easily after the Boxing Day fight? The Centaur's plane never malfunctions, so Shane never proposes. Instead, Ilya gives him an ultimatum on coming out and going public. It backfires spectacularly.
