Just like that, the words die on Fu Yao’s tongue, and his back stiffens into a straight line. Nan Feng doesn’t draw back, and places a second kiss next to where the first had landed.
“I hate it when you try to give compliments,” Nan Feng murmurs, nuzzling against Fu Yao’s cheek. “It comes out so twisted. At least your insults are honest.”
