Omg this is amazing! I cried multiple times, I was so anxious. This is just so AGHJSHE The cliffhanger is making me go crazy. I thought this was completed when I first read it and thought that this was part one of the series but no it just has a set number of chapters remaining, so it doesn't have the "/?" at the end. I read this in one sitting having to pee the entire time and I don't regret a thing. I feel so bad for Damian I just want to give him a hug. The amount of shit Balde put him through is just so 😭. I also like that Damian is not immediately healed as soon as he’s back home, like that shit is going to leave a scar on him forever. I was a little confused with all the Tim stuff at the beginning because I was reading this just for Damian, to be honest, but I like how it’s used in most recent chapters. Because of course Tim is also traumatized by his experience, and he doesn’t want to be touched sometimes, and Damian is like used to touch now because of how Blade acted and they clashed, and Damian thinks Tim's disgusted by him now. I love how messy it is. I also like all the stuff with Dick, the mystery is everything, even though I had most of the pieces, but him finding out what I already knew is very entertaining. I also like that Damian doesn’t really use Blade’s real name because that’s not what he knew him as. I like Damian going on Instagram and like pretending he isn’t but Tim’s like you know we can see when you’re online, it was funny, but also sad. When I was first reading it, I was worried it was going to be torture porn, but it’s so well written like all the whump is there obviously, but it doesn’t feel overboard. I also like that they just find Damian in a random Walmart. Also, that Blade victim blames Damian for all the people that he killed when they’re on the run. And then he makes Damian cut himself for all the people that Blade killed. That was so sad, like I wanted to cry and I think I actually did. I don’t remember. I remember I cried a lot reading this, though it was very good for my soul. I also like that on the run; Damian tries to get help multiple times until he “learns” not to. Like Damian stays the same resourceful kid he’s always been, but of course he doesn’t want more people to die so he just stops eventually, which is so sad. I also like how stressed he was during the actual arrest. And then Tim’s recounting of it in his own thoughts, how distressing it was for him to notice Damian’s own distress. (I’m using distress too much but whatever) I also like how much guilt Bruce has in this. It’s very in character like that’s literally Bruce’s whole thing, guilt. So, I’m glad it's here. Though to be honest I would also feel guilty if my kids went through all the shit they’re going through.
It finally updated! This is one of the best DC fics I have ever read. The final chapter is so good. I love that Blade becomes just another one of the rogues. It makes me sick to my stomach just think about it, in a good way of course. I love the letter that Damian sent to Blade, and that he never read it. I also love the complicated feelings that Damian had for him. Blade really fucked up his entire mentality, and I hope her burns in hell for it. (that's how I know that the author is good because I feel so strongly about the characters in this fic. The court scenes are amazing as well. I like that it's entirely expository, and that we still have the thoughts of the characters just after things have happened just not in the moment. It's very creative.

Everything felt so real, realer and fresher than it'd ever been. If that made sense, which it probably didn’t.
His senses then were just so alive that he didn’t think he could recall a time he’d ever been so… aware, of everything.
