“Ray!” Pete screams. He doesn’t know how long it’s been since he started screaming; time has been moving strangely since the major put a bullet in Ray’s stomach. This is wrong, Olson was right, it’s all fucking wrong. He never understood why Ray was so pessimistic, never understood Ray’s insistence that the money was worthless, or why he couldn’t see the good in it all.

Raymond Garraty has always been a reserved, level-headed guy; sure, he’s got his anger issues, but he’s pretty mellow all things considered. He never takes unnecessary risks, never gets caught up in the moment so much that he does something stupid, and doesn’t even really go to parties. Sure, he likes his friends, and he really has enjoyed dorming with Art the past few months, but honestly? Ray just wants to get his degree and get the hell out of university so he can go back to Maine and take care of his mom. Or at least that’s what he thought he wanted.

Fix-it (ish) where everyone lives, Pete moves in with Ray and Ginny in Maine, several chapters of queer pinning and domestic fluff ensue. Also, Ray's Ex, Jan, is there too, but she's also an ultra-religious massive homophobe who HATES Pete. Pete and Ray are in love, but they're both terrified of it. I'm awful at summaries but the actual fic is much better lol.
