Jayce finishes his drink, flopping against the back of the couch with a huff. "I just want to get it over with, I feel like once that happens, I'll be in the clear."
Viktor isn't even sure if he can blame it on the alcohol when such a sobering sentence tumbles from his lips. "We could kiss."
Jayce whips his head towards him. "What?"
"We could kiss." He shrugs. "We both want to get it out of the way, and we trust each other. Saves us the trouble of finding out that we are bad kissers from a complete stranger—no harm done."
"No harm—" Jayce sighs. "Are you serious?"
"Yes."
Jayce and Viktor start college but are too afraid to hook up with anyone because they're virgins.
What's a scientist to do besides experiment?

Summary
Zaun and Piltover have been at war for decades: Jayce and Viktor fight on opposite sides, and one day, they kill each other. Multiple times. Eventually, they stop.
Advance. He must advance.
And he does: he cuts, thrusts, parries.
Until he meets a pair of amber eyes.
The Zaunite standing right in front of him is slender. Maybe too slender for war.
His dark armor hugs his body, but Jayce’s eyes hurry to crawl up to his face: pale skin dotted with moles, gaunt cheeks, thin, twisted lips. The man holds a curved blade in his right hand and a short dagger in his left. He’s heaving, and Jayce thinks he could easily kill him.
And so he moves, his finger tight on the hilt of the sword: he can see the blade cutting through the man’s side. It’s deep enough to kill, and they both know it.
Jayce’s eyes never leave the amber gaze: the man’s eyes, wide with terror, are so beautiful.
A piercing pain blooms in his chest: he looks down, red widening on his white tunic.
Oh , he thinks.

What has Viktor done to deserve this? At what point did Jayce come to value him so highly? Somehow, this bond of theirs grew so gradually, so subtly, escaping Viktor’s notice as it entwined itself into every facet of their lives, strangling all else with its roots until only its verdant bloom remained.
“Let me go, Jayce.”
The grip on him tightens. “I won’t.”
No. He’s made that quite clear. Viktor lacks the strength to shake him off; if he tried, Jayce would surely release him, but to rob Jayce of his sole source of comfort would not be right, nor good, and so Viktor waits. A minute passes, then two, then four.
The rune swallows them up, and abandons them in an unfamiliar land. Is this not what they wanted? With naught but the clothes on their backs, they are left to wander. To wonder.
