Which is only a little bit complicated by the fact that they'll be traveling with a party of nosy friends, confused children, and a dog.

The grave was nothing impressive. Raven couldn’t exactly commission a stone mason to carve out a headstone for Alexei Dinoia. Everyone was aware that the Ex-Commandant had somehow ushered in the end of the world as they knew it. Besides, he didn’t want anyone entertaining the idea that he still had some alliance with the dead man. Raven felt sweat trickle down the back of his neck as he carried the stone up a hill and into a small patch of woods.

Flynn clicked his tongue and let out a frustrated sigh. They were probably off lollygagging somewhere. He could vividly imagine Yuri gulping down a pint or two at the bar, or sprawled on his bed surrounded by his mess.

The prospect of Regis leaving bites into Geralt with a sting he didn’t expect. Somehow he didn’t think of this before, and that, he tells himself, is what this pain must be: the surprise of it.
