Summary
After an exhausting stint at the Ministry and an awkward breakup with Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger impulsively quits her job and moves into a tiny flat above Diagon Alley’s new arts district. A late-night chat with Luna Lovegood lands her a job at The Greenhouse, Luna and Neville’s trendy coffee shop, where she proves to be a very mediocre barista. Their most difficult customer, Draco Malfoy, is quick to complain about every badly foamed latte and insists she should be fired. Hermione watched dumbfounded as a young redheaded girl ran past and kissed her husband right in front of her. He hadn’t even left the muddy Quidditch field. He didn’t even try to break the kiss, but his face turned ghastly white when he saw Hermione. Her face burned red in anger. “You said you weren’t going to be here.”
“What the bloody hell was that supposed to mean? I thought I would surprise my husband, but I guess you obviously had a surprise for me.” She scolded.
“Mione’ come on now, it’s just a fan. We don’t have anything going on.” The young redheaded girl looked at him, rather upset and taken aback by his words.
Hermione could tell in that moment that there was a bit more to the story of a random fan giving him a heavy kiss. Other players were starting to leave the field, and at that moment, she didn’t care. She grabbed hold of the first person to walk by, planted a deep kiss, and closed her eyes. Her warm hands rested on the stranger’s cheeks. The stranger was a bit surprised and gently placed his hands on her shoulders. When she opened her eyes, shock settled in, not the fact that she randomly kissed someone from the opposing team, but it was Draco Malfoy. ‘What have I done!?’

Hermione was just trying to have a normal Tuesday: feed her overly dramatic cat, open a definitely-dangerous ancient armoire, ignore Cormac McLaggen until he wanders off to do whatever it is useless men do.Instead, she got: A surprise heist, four suspiciously well-coordinated intruders in designer cloaks, one ancient book radiating “murder me” vibes and a front-row seat to what can only be described as a magical boyband breakup under extreme stress.
Inside the warehouse: Chaos, spells, and a near-bludgeoning featuring one decorative bust. Outside the warehouse: Harry Potter with 36 Aurors, a plan held together with sellotape and rage, and Ron Weasley seconds from committing murder on live Prophet coverage.
It’s like Ocean’s Eleven had a baby with Die Hard and gave it a wand, a trauma bond, and a lot of feelings no one is emotionally equipped to handle. The intruders say they want the cursed object. Hermione suspects what they really need is group therapy, juice boxes, and a very long nap.
The Vault is: 50% tension 30% sarcasm 20% bad decisions and 100% one Gryffindor witch with a coin-based panic button saving her own damn life while the wizards argue about tactical logistics.
