Summary is this edited, wonderful prompt from the giftee!
In the months before Christmas he finds out that Shouta grew up in a fairly poor family in a very poor neighborhood. They couldn’t get excited about holidays, (gifts meant there had been some kind of bonus at work). Now, Shouta sees no reason to be excited about a day other than getting paid overtime to take shifts that others want off.
Izuku was a completely different matter. He’d grown up with parents who had argued in every memory he had of them in the same room. Thankfully they divorced by the time he was five, but their many subsequent marriages and divorces, meant that holidays were spent surrounded by strangers that claimed to be family one minute and wouldn’t even nod at him once the divorce went through. Holidays could mean expensive presents used as bribes to get in his good graces, or nothing as each parent expected the other to remember their child.
Hizashi has his work cut out for him if he’s going to sweep his lovers off their feet and show them that holidays don’t have to be celebrated in a certain way, as long as they’re spent with the people you love and care about.
