Despite the passage of time—six years have passed since their last meeting in her bedroom in that forgotten cottage on the edge of the forest—the Hunter hasn't changed much. He's still got that boyish smirk, he levels her with it as the silence stretches between them. His chestnut brown eyes sparkle in the candlelight, dark and dangerous, but with a ravenous hint as he devours her with his gaze.
Whether he's sizing her up to fight or fuck, Ashe isn't yet sure.

Cole knows, just like the first hints of Petrichor carrying on the breeze, that a storm is coming. He didn't exactly leave Ashe in the best of positions on Route 66. And Bob… Well, Cole definitely could have been kinder to him. He's lucky that Bob is a gentle giant and didn't snap him in two the second they were in the same room together.

“Go on, Kiriko,” Yamagami-sensei says, touching the back of her daughter’s head. “Shimada-san and I,” the tall mother says with a nod to Hanzo’s father in his Western suit and bright red pocket square, “need to discuss the last of the plans for Hanzo and Genji’s training. The three of you will be training together. You should get to know them.”
Hanzo’s heart freezes, all of his organs flipping over and finding new places inside his body. Training with his miscreant mischief-making brother he had been able to stomach. But this, this girl in pink sneakers and her hair peeking up like a fox’s tail at the back of her head, this little girl with two parents instead of his one? His fingers tighten in his armpits, the scowl deepening. She cannot be more than five. She is so small. How will she manage to do anything?

She’s grateful they never tried this as kids. She was a little more tender then, and Cole was a lot meaner. Things might have ended even worse than they did that first time around.
That ending’s a grudge she still hasn’t totally forgotten, but he lets her take it out in bed and that goes a long way toward helping her forgive his debt.
Fucking his boyfriend goes a long way too.
