Summary
After the fall of Hawkins, Robin Buckley and Nancy Wheeler fall into a dangerous routine: late-night patrols, shared beds, lingering touches, and the kind of tension that stops being platonic long before either of them admits it.
It would be easier if there weren’t kisses. Easier if there weren’t lies. Easier if Robin didn’t have Vickie waiting for her while Nancy keeps ending up in her bed, under her hands, and far too deep under her skin.
But there’s Vickie. There’s guilt. There’s jealousy sharp enough to draw blood. And there’s the fact that Robin and Nancy seem utterly incapable of staying away from each other once the line between friendship and something far more physical starts to blur.

Summary

Nancy Wheeler is an ambitious rising journalist at the Boston Herald, laser-focused on her career and determined not to let messy things like relationships slow her down.
When they match on a dating app, they don't expect much beyond a quick conversation. Instead, they strike up an unlikely connection, and Nancy reluctantly agrees to show Robin the ropes of Boston’s lesbian dating scene. It’s meant to be strictly platonic—Nancy plays guide, Robin dates other women, and feelings stay out of it.
Their arrangement works - until it doesn't.

“When I asked if you were sure,” Robin added, softer, “I meant the breaking-and-entering part. The fence. The maybe-getting-arrested part. The my college applications die in prison part.”
“Oh.” Nancy’s brows knit, then smoothed. Her chin lifted a fraction, a sly smile tugging at her lips. “We won’t get caught. No cameras. No alarms on the back door. And the fence—”
Robin was already moving. She dropped to one knee in front of it and laced her fingers together, bracing her thigh like a human step stool. “Your chariot awaits, your Highness.”
Nancy stared at her, then stepped closer. One hand settled on Robin’s shoulder. Her fingers slid upward—adjusting Robin’s collar, the back of them brushing the hollow of her throat. Robin shivered.
“Are you sure?” Nancy asked quietly, worrying her bottom lip.
“Dead serious,” Robin swallowed. “Though I’d really prefer if no interdimensional monsters showed up to prove it.”
Or,
Robin met her soulmate somewhere between Russian torture and an interdimensional monster — and now she has absolutely no recollection of it. Fortunately, Steve Harrington has decided they’re going to find them anyway. Even if the answer might be right in front of her.

Tuesday is her least busy day with the line and her biggest course load at school, has been cramming a full weeks worth of classes into one day save for an ethics course on Friday afternoon that totally disrupts what would otherwise be a good paying day.
"Any day except for Tuesday." Robin says, her voice suave and smooth and not at all the nervous, bumbling thing that started the call. "I look forward to it, Princess."
And because Nancy isn't one to be outdone — can sell sex with her voice and two can play at that game, Robin — she lowers her voice to something sultry and sexual.
"Oh baby, the pleasure is all mine."

Robin grips the edge of the counter, halfway hunched over the sink. She turns her head in Nancy’s direction, eyes watery and cheeks flushed as pink as the azaleas Mrs. Wheeler’s planted in the front yard.
“You’re going to be the death of me, Nancy Wheeler.”
