“What’s your name, kid?” Shouta blurted the question in a rare moment of impulse.
The child only glances at him, chewing his lip with anxious eyes like he’s done something wrong, before making his move on their sand board. “Iz-Izuku. What’s your name, M-Mr?”
“Aizawa Shouta. Nice to meet you, Izuku-kun.” Manners taste weird, Shouta decides as he gives a polite nod.
Yamada and Aizawa have been married for three years now, together for five, and despite still being fairly young and just getting a handle on being pro heroes they’ve decided they want to start a family together, starting by going to a children’s home for a visit and playing with the kids to figure out what they’re getting into, with the intent of eventually adopting when their careers become stable. But no one told them that sometimes it's the kid that chooses, not the parents, and the universe is a bit impatient to see a certain green haired child's happiness.

Humans are rare to see in the galaxy - but seeing a living being who's seen a pissed off human before? Even rarer. Humans are monsters - some of the best fighters in the galaxy and some of the strongest will powers of all known creatures. To most, they seem stupid. Dumb as hell. He never expects this to change until he suddenly finds himself freefalling when his leash is unexpectedly cut by an unforeseen ally who also despises cages. Freedom held tightly in his talons, he decides to help another who has been caged like him. Winged folk stick together, or that’s how he sees it. Summary
Izuku was chosen for his lack of quirk. Aizawa was chosen for his quirk’s usefulness as it pertained to the mission. Both were scanned and vetted meticulously, followed for a minimum of one month (Izuku) and a maximum of three (Aizawa; it took much longer due to his pro-hero status).
Kidnapped and subjected to experimentation, torture, and horrors beyond comprehension, Izuku and Aizawa only have each other.
But left to the mercy of their captors, will their companionship be enough to break themselves out? Or instead, lead them to break apart in the process?
