Summary
Dawn knew him.
It was a very distant feeling, some almost forgotten memory trying to weasle it's way up to her brain again. A feeling of... regret? Longing? She couldn't quite describe it.
She knew he felt the same though. His dark eyes piercing through her, while her own sapphire blue ones stared at him, as if to freeze him in time.
It was awkward at first, not knowing how to adress it. After a while though, Dawn tried to talk to him more. Shared her thoughts, joked about the funny feeling in her gut. Only to realize, that he actually was listening to her talks. As if searching for something.
And when Paul finally admitted, that he shared this feeling of familiarity with her, the two started to wonder. Where did it come from? He did not quite remember when he got on the train, nor did he remember what he was doing there. The stone walls in the futuristic city seemed familiar somehow, but still he didn't know a thing about this place, didn't know a street, a corner, a building. When Paul slowly stepped outside the train, he took a deep breath. Smell the ashes, they said. And damn, could he smell them.
(This crossover is paused for the time being so I can focus on writing the main title first, as I skipped the first Half Life game and forgot, that I can't write stories without knowing at least a little bit about the past xD)
