Summary
3,200 years ago, King Odysseus of Ithaca crossed the ocean to return home after the Trojan War, fighting friends, rivals, and monsters.
He returned home to his wife and children after 20 years at sea, expecting to be the family they always wanted. Odysseus didn't understand he was cursed on Ogygia.
Immortal curse.Forced to watch his wife and son grow and change as he aged. Getting weaker. He lost them both to the Underworld. Where he couldn't join them. Sad and depressed, Odysseus begged the Gods to let him die and join his family, but they refused.
Odysseus traversed the world, losing his meaning of life each year. Using his immortality to defend the helpless, but by 1900, man-eating demons ravaged the Earth.
Odysseus found the demon slayer corps while travelling around Japan and decided to fight modern demons. Helping humanity again. Odysseus became Tomioka Giyuu, the Water Hashira, after learning Water Breathing from Sakonji Urokodaki to defeat the demons.
