He throws the car in park and removes the key before leaning forward slightly to rest his forehead on the steering wheel. The car shakes as the kids scramble out of it, slamming the doors closed behind them. Each resulting WHAM sets off fireworks behind Steve’s closed eyelids.
He just needs a minute. One minute of silence. Then, he’ll go inside to wrangle the kids and clean up before Mrs. Byers gets back.
A hand lands on his shoulder and he jumps, whipping his head to see who’s touching him. Pain floods over the left side of his head and down through his neck and shoulders. He presses a hand into his left eyebrow, trying to chase the pain away with the pressure.
Dustin still sits in the passenger seat next to him. His hand tightens on his shoulder, eyes blown wide.
“Steve, hey, you okay?”

Legend could imagine how he looked to Hyrule in that initial, terrifying moment. Eyes unfocused and still, many injuries that had stopped leaking blood long enough ago that it had started to crust on him and in his wounds. Staring up at the canopy of the forest. Unmoving.
“Legend, what-” Hyrule breathed, hands shifting on his arms. Legend could faintly see the glow of Hyrule’s magic where it reflected off of his belt buckle. Hyrule was searching for an injury, for something to fix.
You couldn’t heal what was already gone.
Hyrule’s breath stuttered, and he shook Legend gently. Legend’s body flopped unhelpfully, despite the way he was desperately straining to move, to breathe, to do anything that might reassure his brother. Hyrule shook him again, giving up on gentleness as he received no response. “Legend- Legend wake up, Legend-”
OR
Legend gets hit by the Curse Of Living Death.
Trapped in his body, he watches Hyrule mourn him

Dream and Tubbo are just settling into their new home, which is great! Everything's going well for them!

That is until a variety of wrenches are thrown into Dreams plan for a calm life in a small village with his little brother in the form of a couple additions to his collection of hyperactive children, a guy with wings that confuses and intimidates him most of the time, another run-in with his worst nightmare, and some journals that reignite a long-dead, well, dream of his.
Needless to say, Dream finds that a new home isn't as smooth of a transition as he'd hoped, in most cases.a.k.a; the sequel to the previous fic in this series (which I highly recommend reading before this one), where we continue to follow Dream and Tubbo's journey to liberation from their past. Only, now, instead of crossing tundra's and climbing mountains, Dream has to navigate social interaction and the confrontation that, maybe, not every adult wants to make his life miserable. Alas, the path is never easy.
