To show his true strength in the trial of seven, Omega Aerion drinks wildfire earlier than in canon but this time it doesn't kill him. It turns him into the beast he always thought himself as, just with less control than anticipated.
Alpha Dunk is sent on a quest to bring Aerion back to himself after he flew off in exchange of pardon for his crimes. Nobody informed him he would have to tame the dragon that was the prince, who is a lot more pleasant as a scaly beast.

also if ure wondering why im doing this in installments:
a) i initially just wanted to write a one-shot based on my experiences irl but got so many requests to continue
b) im challenging myself that every single work has to have a complete storyline and will be artistic enough to read on its own (dialogue-wise, etc.)
c) i didnt want to condense the tagsEDIT: all fics are now coalesced in “brain chemistry” :> will be updating there too

Summary

A violent and sadistic Russian officer fixates on Steve, and Hopper is powerless to intervene as the kid he used to lecture about parties and beer becomes a target of relentless torment. When a chaotic rescue mission saves Hopper but forces him to leave Steve behind, he makes a plan to go back for him on his own.
The Party doesn't abandon its own, though, and Steve belongs to them. With the kids, some helpful adults, and the teens who are still unsure how they've gotten dragged into so many life-or-death situations, Hopper heads back into hell to save the kid he failed.
This time, he'll die before he leaves Steve behind.
