The downside of being a Wicked Witch was timing.
If you wanted to curse someone, you needed to make sure to do it before they realized what you were and got themselves protection.With Doug, Maddie realized too late that she would need a Curse. By the time she did, he hadn't just gotten protection for himself - he'd woven a binding into his amulet, rendering her unable to use most of her magic.
She was trapped like the Selkie her mother pronounced her Great-Aunt to be. She could leave, but she'd leave her magic behind forever.

“That’s so cool,” he breathed. “How much do you weigh? Can I lift you?” He moved as if to get out of the man’s arms, but was gripped tighter instead.
“Not right now,” the man said. He was also slurring his words. “Need to carry you over the threshold first.”
Buck blinked and looked ahead. They were walking towards a really big door that led to the busy street outside. “Oh. Why?”
“Well, that’s what you do when you get married, right?”
Oh. Right. “We’re married!” Buck cheered and the man, Connor, and Scott cheered with him, just as they stepped out of the chapel. -

He was supposed to get dressed for a dinner with the team - not like their old cook outs, since Bobby and Athena still hadn't found a new place (or build a new one, he wasn't sure), but at a restaurant. Eddie was going to pick him up, saying he didn't want to drink anyway, and Buck... Buck didn't know what to wear.

Summary
A fully fledged 22-episode rewrite - the same overall season arc, but very different individual episodes, character arcs, more character development, etc. All the things we wanted to see in Season 2 and which we didn't get - and keeping all the stuff we did like! This is about as shippy as the season 1 of the show, which means that there are plenty of moments for each and every ship you hope to see, but it's primarily gen.
18 authors have collaborated to bring you 22 full new episodes, with our collective vision for what Season 2 could have been.

Summary
After being forced to use up his vacation days, Buck feels more alone than ever. Things are still strained between himself and his Firefam so he reaches out to a friend he met online. Shane invites him to come and stay with him and his wife, and while in Aus, Buck learns how to feed a joey, makes friends with chickens, and when a bushfire rages nearby, he steps up to the fight.
The 118 have no idea, until they see Buck's face on international news coverage of the fire. -

After Bobby dies, Athena—seeking a change, and some sort of meaning in life—gets pulled onto the LAFD's Arson Investigation unit. It's been falling apart at the seams for years now. But she's given her pick of firefighters to fill it out, and she chooses the best of the best: Buck, of course, adrift and grieving; and Tommy, who's been grounded for insubordination and transferred to admin for a while.
Buck and Tommy dance around each other. Athena closes in on a serial arsonist. Things heat up from there.

“I can help, if you wanna call it that,” Sal says, letting his fangs drop. “What's your name?”
“Tommy.” His fingers move from Sal’s cheek to his mouth, his thumb brushing Sal’s fang. “Huh.”
“Let me,” Sal begs. He can't watch the life under him slip away. It's like a voice at the back of his head is screaming for him to just rip open his own vein and let the change take hold. “I'm Sal.”
Tommy draws in a pained breath, cries out, and tears leak from his eyes. Sal waits, reaches up to squeeze his hand.
“I can help,” he repeats softly.
And Tommy blinks at him and nods.

Summary
Sal gets called in as a union steward to follow up on an anonymous complaint. There's two major conflicts of interest for him:
1. It involves the 118, including someone he used to work with.
2. It involves Buck, who he's been pretty much in love with since he met him.
2.5. Also, Sal's been in love with Tommy for almost a decade.The last one doesn't have any bearing on the situation, but it does complicate his life.
