Steve tilts his head, watching Eddie as Eddie tries to hold his gaze, and whatever this weird staring contest is about, Eddie feels like he’s losing, even if Steve’s the first to look away. Because his eyes dart down his body, briefly, but it’s enough for Eddie’s lungs to betray him with a sharp, audible inhale.
A corner of Steve’s lips twitches upwards before he finally answers.
“I mean… Didn’t know that was a payment option.”***
Needing some aid for his insomnia following the Starcourt Mall fire, Steve Harrington pays a visit to the known Hawkins dealer and former schoolmate Eddie Munson. There's a perfectly logical explanation as to why he ends up on his knees trying to get in the guy's pants. What baffles him is getting rejected and asked to leave.
Meanwhile, Eddie's having an existential crisis while trying to be a decent human being.

With Steve's fingers opening him up, Eddie tries to will his body to relax; but the more he tries, the worse it gets. He's tense and anxious, fully spiraling, all the worst insecurities swarming his mind and threatening to ruin the whole experience.
