Summary
“English is… is not first language,” the woman said quietly. Her accent was thick, and unmistakably Russian.
“Oh, sorry! I’m speaking too fast, aren’t I? Sorry,” she took a breath, and held out her hand. “I’m Yuna,” she repeated. The woman took her hand quickly, her hands bony and delicate.
“Irina,” she replied, before gesturing for Yuna to sit with her. Quickly, Yuna did. “Sorry, I have not been in Canada long.”
“No problem at all; welcome to Canada! Is that your boy?” Yuna asked, gesturing over to the child that had similar hair to Irina, which was poking out from under his helmet. He was taller than Shane, though his little hockey outfit still seemed to still dwarf him. He had a serious look on his face, but his eyes were light as he watched the other boys play. He was tapping his stick on the ice, clearly itching to get into the game.
“Ah, yes,” Irina nodded, taking a few seconds to translate the question, “Ilyusha.” Irina looked over at her son, a small smile on her face. “Is my Ilya.”
Or: Ilya and Irina move to Canada for a fresh start when he is six years old. He meets Shane Hollander at ice hockey practice, and they grow up together (and of course, fall in love).

Summary
The world thinks Shane Hollander made a mistake.
Ilya thinks the world can go fuck itself.
Shane is pregnant, furious, and still somehow the sweetest thing Ilya’s ever been let near. If people want to keep being stupid about that, fine. Ilya’s got bigger problems. Like keeping Shane fed, calm, and asleep through the night, and somehow not fucking this up so badly that Shane stops letting him close.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, Ilya is taking that as a challenge.

Summary
Shane Hollander didn’t think he needed a bachelor party.
Unfortunately for him, his friends disagree.
Between inappropriate decorations, emotional toasts, dock chaos, and one extremely unhinged surprise from Ilya Rozanov, Shane’s quiet weekend at the cottage becomes something else entirely.
Meanwhile, Ilya’s own “simple night out” quickly escalates into a full Death of a Bachelor celebration, complete with vodka, bad decisions, and one very drunk fiancé showing up at the club.
After years of secrets, near misses, and terrible timing, Shane and Ilya are finally getting married.
First, though, they have to survive their bachelor parties.

Thank you @sackettc on tiktok for the inspo for this :)
Also, this story takes place during The Long Game, somewhere between the Centaurs getting knocked out of the playoffs and Shane signing with Ottawa/the wedding. But also, J.J. isn't upset at Shane for not telling him about Ilya/not upset anymore. (Idk, don't read into it too much.)
Enjoy <3

Summary
So many cards Shane had privately held so close were now on the table. It seemed almost like tempting fate to ask for any more.
But they were still at the cottage.
And that meant he still needed to be honest about what he actually was thinking and feeling. That was the rule. And if there was one thing Shane could thrive at, it was following a rule. That was kind of the whole issue.
