Summary
Damage has been done. Serious damage. Physical, emotional, psychological. The unholy trinity of pain.
Ed has a great deal of healing to do. Physical, emotional, psychological. And, as much as he hates to admit it, he just can’t do that without at least some contact with the cause of it all: Stede fucking Bonnet.
As Ed’s scars slowly knit back together, and Stede gets the chance to darn the gaping holes he tore in Ed’s soul, the threads of their lives begin to weave into a skein of something new. Something potentially very fine.
And, who knows?
Maybe this time they’ll both be lucky. Maybe this time Stede will stay.

Summary

Over the years he has built up a reputation as a brutally honest reviewer, but when he posts a scathing review of a new release, he is astonished to find himself challenged by The Gentleman Reviewer, who claims the toy isn’t faulty but Blackbeard was misusing it.
Neither side is willing to back down, and their bickering escalates into a full-blown rivalry with the two of them battling it out to become the No.1 profile on the site. Nothing like a heated rivalry to get the blood going. Could this set ablaze something else between them?

“Shhh,” Ed says, though who he’s shushing, Stede has no idea. His head lolls helplessly, and he lurches forward into Stede’s arms like a sack of sexy, drunk potatoes. “Shhhhhh, s’late.”
“It is,” Stede agrees, amused. “Did you have a good time?”
“Mm. We stayed in. Fang made old fashioneds.”
“You hate old fashioneds.”
“Made old fashioneds for him,” Ed clarifies, his voice slack against Stede’s neck. “For me, he made. Uhh. This thing with, like. Birthday cake vodka?”
“Sounds yummy. What were the other ingredients?”
Ed loosens himself from the embrace, teetering backwards to squint at Stede.
“What other ingredients?” he slurs.
(Or: Ed comes home plastered. Stede has a few moral reservations about giving him what he asks for. A modern era two-shot about communication, vulnerability, consent and birthday cake vodka. It's mostly drunk sex. Happy birthday, SD!)
