Summary
Max is dragged to a rock concert by Safi and Amanda, and she can't be too mad when the members of the band are pretty hot (and gay). Especially the blue haired guitarist, who Max can't help but obsessively stare at. When they cross paths at a bar after the concert, Safi gives her a friendly shove to go over and talk to her. And she does. She's hot and cool, and her name is Chloe, but that's totally just a coincidence. The last time Max saw her childhood best friend, they'd barely been teenagers.
Chloe can't believe Max actually doesn't recognize her. It's been over fifteen years, sure, but she recognized Max on sight. She wants to be hurt about it, but the flirting and promise of a fun one night stand make her hesitate. So she decides to go along with it, pretend she doesn't know exactly who Max Caulfield is.
Until things get real back at the hotel, and she has no choice but to confess.

For a long time they just kneel there in the sand, falling into each other, soaking each other’s shirts with tears and snot and all sorts of other goopy shit. Max smells like a lightning storm but she also smells like Max, and she’s using that same fruity-ass shampoo that made their bathroom in Seattle stink like a Bath & Body Works circa 2004.
Chloe’s about to say something to that effect, but stops herself, because bitching about shampoo is the most absolutely insane way to greet your long-lost best friend/partner in time/one true love, even by Chloe Price standards.
