Summary
The thing about time is that it's relative. If something happens in one moment it also happens in every moment throughout all of its existence.
That is to say that when a fraction of a fraction of the King slips into Avery's mind on New Year's Eve, Avery also wakes up a year prior with omnipotence, a world's worth of grief, and his best friend's real-life address burning in his head.
Along the way he picks up a baseball bat. It's a necessary provision for smashing Derek's laptop into a thousand pieces before he can so much as launch Minecraft.

Derek slumps in his chair. After so long, he closes his eyes. A smile reaches his lips. Tears well and pour. His pulse stops in a rhythm. His life is slipping, and the universe floods his eyes. The stars, the earth, all of history, all that will ever be, aliens and starships, occultism and symbols, every language across the known realm; It's too fast to comprehend, but the beauty brings him to breathlessness. The king's screams echo through the chaos.
Somewhere, out there, right there, right here, Avery cries. Derek knows he's mourning. The hope, the hopelessness, the love, the betrayal, the grief, he willingly feels it all. He looks through the house. Avery's mother is watching the ball drop, His sister and brother bicker over alcohol. Fireworks thunder outside. Derek revels in the celebrations. He won't get another. Avery's sobs are drowned out by the noise below. He extends his oblivion-touched hands, but cannot reach him.

"Are the lights...bothering you?"
From deep within his robe, Kinger nodded, then he muttered in a strained, broken voice.
"Everything is bothering me."
(During an especially overwhelming adventure, Kinger starts to have a meltdown and is unwillingly found by Zooble.)

Summary
Everyone knew Shrimpo was…quite the character. A character filled with hatred and unbridled rage. But why exactly is that? Shrimpo’s answer to anyone who asked was usually something along the lines of ‘I just hate you!’ or ‘You’re the worst!’. And everyone has accepted this. It’s Shrimpo after all, he was the show's bully. But then an incident occurs during a standard ichor run, with the end result being Shrimpo breaking down in actual tears. In his vulnerable state, Shrimpo reveals a little more than he intended to about why he is how he is. Just that small amount of information is enough to deeply unsettle the toons. They dig deeper, whether Shrimpo wants them too or not.
