It wasn’t Quirrell and the troll, or the diary and young Tom Riddle. It wasn’t Snape or Wormtail, or even Voldemort’s return. It certainly wasn’t Umbridge or Malfoy that finally did it.
No. It was the death of Sirius Black. That was what finally broke Harry Potter, the chosen one, the boy who lived. Finding out about the prophecy and the wards around Privet Drive were the final straw.
