"Procedure doesn't matter right now! We've got a dying child on our hands; and he's the answer to the world's suffering." She scowls, and turns back to push the needle into her arm. The flood of deep red begins trailing down the clear tubing, the same way the glistening saline had done. She just hopes the transfusion works; that there hasn't been a mistake that kills Minho instead of helps him, that the blood flows quick enough for him to make use of it.
She turns back to the doctor. "You're a fool; and you talk down on me when you don't know what to do. Chancellor Paige will hear of this- of you risking the life of her strongest subject, no?" She surprises herself with her bitterness: she hasn't felt this angry since she woke up in the Glade, since Chuck's death. She's always been cautious, and worried, anxious to step right, greedy to ensure the safety of her friends. But never angry. Angry is Minho's thing.

The shadow says Gally's name again, this time louder, and Minho clamps his hands over his ears, screwing his eyes closed. The silence beats down on him for a few seconds, just the endless ringing between his temples and his own heavy breaths remaining within his skull. Gally watches him, concerned like always, but he doesn't say a word. He knows the drill.
