Hijikata, the demon vice commander of Shinsengumi, and Gintoki, the boss of Yorozuya Gin-chan were coincidentally together on a rainy amanto planet where both groups have a task to do. The 2 men were both immersed in their tasks until they found a baby in an abandoned house who won't stop crying. Being the responsible civil servant that he is, Hijikata did not hesitate to scoop into his arms the poor little one and tried to comfort her. The baby did calm down and a gentle smile painted the face of the demon vice commander — a side of him that Gintoki witnessed for the first time. The baby's parents were nowhere to be found for the planet has been abandoned by its original inhabitants so, Hijikata went to report about it to the Shinsengumi to know what should be done... but he never knew that this simple rescue is about to make a great change in his life.
