Summary
Several years past, the transformed denizens and looming corporations of Raccoon City did their level best to kill both River Carriker and Leon S. Kennedy. They made it out of the crumbling city alive— barely— but in the chaotic aftermath, River chose to turn back in a futile search for more survivors, while Leon kept moving away— but didn't move on.
Now, their paths finally cross again in a small village in Spain, as Leon investigates a lead on the President’s kidnapped daughter. River, wandering to offer help wherever she's needed, insists on hanging around— on helping, however she can. Meanwhile Leon pushes back, insisting she's in far over her head.
As the night goes on, the stakes continue to rise. When the facades they've created in the intervening years slowly unravel, it becomes clear the miscommunications between them lie in three key facts:
One, River knows far more than she should of the situation at hand.
Two, she's capable of things no other human in this world is.
And three— the feelings for her Leon ruthlessly crushed in the aftermath of Raccoon City never actually died.
