Summary
In The Last Battle, King Tirian calls on Aslan for help and receives destruction on a greater scale than he could have imagined. When Tirian finds earlier that the will of Narnia's god does not match with those of men (or, indeed, of Talking Animals) he is desperate enough to beg for help from any quarter he might find it -- even those he has always been taught to fear.
A small temple in the Archenland style, barely the size of a single room. Dead vines clung to the high face of the wall, and mud or worse was spattered knee-high on the stone below. Above the doorway, where the twin faces of Hesperos and Eosphoros should have been, there was only the rough figure of a bird.

Some part of Luminara had expected that her ability to trust in the guidance of the Force would return. But on and on it did not, and she was left with only memories of what it had once been like to believe that the substance of the universe desired change for the better.

Summary

Shmi stands and nearly tumbles over herself.
“That’s it?” She asks, straightening her dress and bag.
The Jedi sniffs.
“That’s it,” they says. “You can—“
“I thought it would be more difficult to persuade you,” Shmi says.
“Ma’am,” the Jedi sighs, “We are an equal opportunity employer. Through the door, please.”(Shmi Skywalker is assaulted by too-real visions of her grandson in pain in the future. She gets a job at the Jedi Temple in order to prevent that from happening and soon after finds herself on a warship.)
