Summary
Over an array of various heads, tucked into the very corner, she sees her. Francesca sits at the piano and even from here she knows her eyes are closed, her fingers skimming across the keys listlessly as if she is accompanied by some sort of breeze. She looks serene, as if there should be a spotlight beaming down upon her from some imaginary gallows whilst everyone else stands in the darkness with their breath stolen from them at the sight. At least, this is how Michaela feels. She can feel her heartbeat in her ears- her breath has been literally taken from her as she watches Francesca play. Butterflies swarm in her stomach as she steps towards her, slotting in towards the side of Eloise, Fran sat right in front of her, the piano separating them.
She knew deep down her feelings could never truly leave, but she didn’t know how strongly they’d happen upon her once again.
