Summary
How many times could I love someone? How many times could I endure that inevitable heartbreak? My wretched heart bled again, heavy with sorrow. How many times could I do it all over again?
With every passing life, I slipped further into despair. I think I would have quite liked to die.
Death would be a most merciful luxury, and yet I couldn’t get a glimpse of it. A peaceful tranquility that mocked me.I met him at the top of the hill again.
He was just as beautiful as I remembered, a fleeting respite in the face of pain.(Basically Dazai is an immortal that meets different incarnations of Kunikida. He could never remember this man, yet they'd always fall in love. Always.
As time passes on, he spirals into deeper despair.Written in a style inspired by Osamu Dazai’s “The Setting Sun” and a little bit of “No Longer Human” [or really, a mix of a few modern classic literature books...]

The endless chase of an ideal world that left him empty time and time again.
It’s…sickening. Tiring.
Kunikida’s had enough.
He’s seen Dazai do it before, not that it worked.
Maybe, just maybe…this time it’ll work on him instead.He regrets it once it’s in. The headache, the searing pain.
With trembling hands, he fumbles to call his partner before it’s too late.Dazai has never been the one on the other end.
(Basically, Kunikida attempts suicide and realises that he doesn’t really want to die.
He ends up calling Dazai.) -

He was always dead from the start, wasn’t he?This is a story that never changes, no matter how hard he tries or no matter how much you read it over and over again.
